For the year 2000 Giant bring the most innovative full-suspension designs to date to the market. Known as the N.R.S. (No Resonance Suspension) it is the first full suspension frame to ride like a rigid and yet maintain fully active travel. Designed in close co-operation with Renault Sport, it gives the control of full suspension and the power of a hardtail. The bikes have been given the name ‘XtC’. Rune Hoydhal says “The strange thing is that I actually feel slower on the XtC, but I am definitely faster against the clock.” In fact, on St Wendel’s World Cup track, it showed that an XtC gains 12 seconds per lap against a rigid MCM frame.
